More than 1 MILLION hunting “trophies” were imported into the US & Europe over the past decade. A QUARTER OF A MILLION were from endangered species.
In this week’s episode, we expose the brutal reality behind the canned hunting industry - a part of the trophy hunting industry which is so controversial that even some trophy hunters find it objectionable. We reveal how lion cubs are taken from the wild, kept in battery farming-like conditions, and how conservation volunteers are unknowingly conned into propping up the industry. We also reveal how pro-hunting lobbies have permeated conservation bodies, and the links to Asian crime cartels trading in lion bones for so-called medicines.
In the words of Chris Mercer, CEO of the Campaign Against Canned Hunting: “It’s a sick industry from top to bottom - the people involved need psychiatric help.”
